I have been in Mangalore for the past 18years. I am very proud to be a Mangalorean. This place is the best of all the places that I have lived. It is sanwiched with Mountains on the East and Beaches on the west. Unlike Bangalore or Chennai, people here are too helpful and friendly. They always respect each other.
The name Mangalore owes its origin to the temple of Mangaladevi. I stay in an apartment near this wonderful temple. Our apartment is just a three min walk from the temple. The regional language of this place is Tulu. This beautiful place is also called as Tulu Nadu. There is always communal harmony here. Here the weather is awesome with Monsoon being the major of all. The rainy season only ends with overflowing rivers. The Gurupur and Nethravathi are the two major river here and its allways full any season. Almost all the festivals here are celebrated in a very grand style.
There are lot of colleges and educational institutes here. I studied in St. Rita's and that was one good school with lot of beautiful girls around ..hehehe!
